Birthing the New: Gentle Hands Healing Arts
In all things that are born, there is a period of gestation. A waiting time while the energy coalesces and grows, a necessary chapter of quiet and darkness.
For 6 years I’ve had a dream to create a healing collective, a small business incubator where practitioners could grow their businesses sustainably, without going into debt and finding “the price of doing business” too high to ever start. Each year for the past 6 years I’ve tried something to birth this collective, and every year it sputtered. That was so frustrating and disheartening, but it wasn’t time yet. The dream was still gestating.
And now that the outside energy matches the internal, vested energy of that wish, it’s finally time. I want to joyfully introduce you to Gentle Hands Healing Arts!

I’m joining up with Dr. Rachelle Dixon of Amazon Grove and her student, Catherine Belleza, L.Ac to create the next iteration of Gentle Hands at Historic Savage Mill. It feels like a momentous birth! Of course there will be questions, which I’ll try to answer here:
Why the name change?
Because the practitioners I’m subleasing to practice different medicine than myself, and because in the new space I can truly branch out my own services into sound healing and outdoor work, it doesn’t make sense to call the whole office ‘Gentle Hands Reiki’. We will be doing so much more than Reiki.
Our services will now be: Reiki, Acupuncture (needles, cupping, gua sha, moxabustion and nutrition), Sound Healing, Tarot and Oracle readings, Traditional Herbs, Alchemical Alignment and Nature Therapy.
I will still be operating as ‘Gentle Hands Reiki’, just like Dr. Dixon will still be ‘Amazon Grove.’ Gentle Hands Healing Arts will only be the name of the physical location, and the umbrella name for the group of providers that work there.
Will you have a different website now?
Yes and no. This website you’re on right now is still the best way to learn about me, my services, my blog and videos, etc, and you can book services using my services page. The other providers will have their own websites as well.
Gentle Hands Healing Arts will have its own website too, because we need a place where people can find out about all of us and all of our services. Clients can book using either website.
Will you use different social media?
I’m still keeping my Gentle Hands Reiki social media profiles intact, and now Gentle Hands Healing Arts also has an Instagram account.
Why did you move to Savage Mill?
I desperately wanted to stay at 345 Main Street in Laurel, where I “grew up” as a practitioner, basically. However, the new landlords of that building raised the rent past the point where any of us could afford to stay. Savage Mill offered a suite that fit my needs – handicap accessible, affordable, close to my previous location, steeped in community, and not a boilerplate medical building. Therefore, it was the best choice.
And I have to admit, since the Mill is a 5-minute walk from my house (and only 2 minutes by car!) the commute was a huge selling point too.
Will your hours change?
Not really. Both Dr. Dixon and I will keep our same hours from before. Catherine Belleza will be working Mondays and some Tuesdays and Wednesdays during the day.
How can I come visit?
Use my Services page to book an appointment! And if you’re interested in acupuncture or herbs, visit our Gentle Hands Healing Arts website to book with one of our other providers.
